Liana - it's absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!

I know it will bring a lot of money for the legacy. Whoever gets it will be one very fortunate person. For me, it would be too precious and too beautiful to use. I would have to get one of those quilt hangers and only use the quilt at special times. It really is precious. THANK YOU...THANK YOU!!!

Thanks for your nice words but you guys did the work with the blocks. Glad you are enjoying it. AND - it looks much better in person than in the picture and it will be better yet when it is quilted.

What a beautiful piece of work - and even moreso, the thought behind it. Looking forward to seeing it close up!

Liana - everytime I see a picture of the quilt - it looks more beautiful than before ! What a treasure ! - but you are right it is all the love and caring that everyone put into it - and all the memories and thoughts it contains that make it so wonderfully precious ! A few years ago my Aunt ( my Godmother and an old nurse) made me a quilt out of my old pinks and blues (my student nurses uniforms) - and it brings back memories of my 3 years training and living in residence - there is so much fun as well as sadness wrapped up in the days I wore those uniforms !
Oh dear ! - an old lady and her memories! But thank you everyone that worked so hard and well on that treasure !! Helen L

Okay. the quilt is just about finished - just need to put the binding on it. Deb and Kathi, I tried to send a pm about the quilt but not sure you got it. Where would you like me to send it???
I am going to have a friend at the quilt shop take a picture of the quilt and will post it as soon as I can.

Thanks, Liana

The quilt is beautiful Liana. I just read all the posts, I had my laugh this evening, even though I am kind of sad over the outcome of the trial. Kathi sure had a time with the animals.

BEAUTIFUL! Wow, I have not been at this site since my bimauliar fracture. IT is PERFECT! I love it.
My ankle break was on 9.13.08. And it put me in a tizzy! If that is what you want to call it. Some people take accidents and pain with a grain of salt. I personally have to say that is NOT me. I am doing oh so much better. Back to babysitting grandson's. But, just because a doctor has a piece of paper saying he is a doctor does NOT mean he will listen to a patient.
I can only say that when I put my Barbaro bracelet and necklace back on, all I kept saying was "I am SORRY BARBARO!" Because, he could not speak and tell of his pain. And he had to stand most of the time. I am glad for Dr. Dean to put him back together and study to learn what to help and do for ALL horses. But, my pain tells me 107 tendons in my foot, working and working for 17 weeks and still not right. HOW can a horse tell you how he feels? MY WISH for you all is health and happiness and JUSTICE FOR ALL!

Wasn't Barbaro amazing, his shattered leg, and endured everything with grace and dignity. Such a brave boy.

Over these last few years, I had remind myself, with my little aches and pains, if Barbaro can withstand, his pain day in and day out, you sure can Eilene

My mom broke her left arm in July, 07. She is 82. We are all left handed. I told her at the time, as she lay in pain, think of Barbaro, and what he went through. At the time, she did not want to hear about Barbaro. Her arm never healed right, so she really has not use of it. Because of her age, and all her health problems, they did not want to surgery.

I have told Barbaro, I am sorry, too!! I am so sorry this happened to you.
